ER’S FIRST EVER GUIDE BOOK FOR THE GATEMEN

·Instructions to Gateman for educating Safety Rules at Level Crossing Gates

Kolkata, January 28, 2015:

Shri R.K. Gupta, General Manager, Eastern Railway unveiled a Guide Book for the Gatemen at Kalyani station Level Crossing Gate recently as a measure to further boost safety in train operations at Level Crossing Gates. The bi-lingual Instruction/Guide Book written in Bengali and Hindi incorporates the basic points of General Rules, Subsidiary Rules, Station Working Rules as well as the dos and don’ts for the Gatemen while o­n duty. This guide book has been published by the safety department is the first of its kind in Eastern Railway. The book contains sketches, diagrams and colored photographs enabling the Gatemen to understand their job responsibility properly.

The book is written in a very simple Bengali/Hindi language to enable to understand by the Gatemen. This book will invariably help the Gatemen to discharge their responsibilities in the right perspective and thus will help strengthen Railway operations & safety measure further.
