In 1921, a part of it was integrated with the Kanchrapara Workshop Loco Complex, and in 1975, it was recognized as an independent depot. The depot has 19 wards for stocking and issuing various new materials, including an auction section for the sale of scrap materials from Kanchrapara Workshop and Sealdah Division.
